As long as I remember, I will receive lot of wedding invitations especially during the mid-school holiday and also towards the year end. 

 

Unfortunately last year in 2020, many wedding invitations have been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic that hit us hard. Government has imposed rule during the Movement Control Order (MCO) where no big crowd gatherings are allowed and this has been lifted recently toward the end of the year. 

Upon the ban been lifted, Felda D'Saji quickly introduced their launch of the wedding package at Dewan Perdana Felda, Kuala Lumpur and we were fortunate to witness a glorious wedding ceremony that held here on last weekend.

Dewan Perdana Felda was built in 2006  and renowned as one of the favored venue for holding wedding ceremony, corporate event or even Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) events. This building is huge with a total meeting space of 5,000 square feet and it can accommodate guests up to 2,000 pax at a time. Most importantly, this magnificent oval-shaped dome building is strategically located in the heart of the bustling city of Kuala Lumpur and making it a sought-after event space. 

 

This event space is fully operated by Felda D'Saji, a subsidiary of Felda and Koperasi Permodalan Felda that has been in the business for the past 20 years with its main business of providing catering and holding private or corporate event at its own or partner's premises.

As we are still in the midst of battling against the COVID-19 pandemic, it is necessary for us to follow all the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) that has been outlined by the government. From the main entrance, there is a MySejahtera check-in QR code provided and upon entering the main lobby, a non-contact infrared forehead temperature scanner is placed for body temperature measurement and last but not least, the leg-press sanitizer is provided for guest to sanitize their hands while minimizing the hand-touch with this latest innovation.

The entire event conducted was following strict SOP where sanitizer kit and hand-glove were provided for each guest. A kind-reminder note is placed on the table to reminds guest to use the hand-glove when taking the dishes served.

Even the waiters and waitresses on duty need to follow the strict SOP when serving the guest where face mask and hand glove is a must for them.

The live instrumental performance at the entrance lobby was presented to create an inviting environment to welcome the guests. They were rotating between the two musicians, the lady in pink-traditional attire is playing the violin and the guy in tuxedo is playing the clarinet. This performance is the newly introduced segment in the package that offers by Dewan Perdana Felda.

Before we explore the grand ballroom, let me share with you the decoration that they provided here at the entrance lobby. On the side, a special photo booth platform has been set up where family and friends can take lot of pictures to capture the best memories during the wedding ceremony.

The entrance into the Dewan Perdana Felda Ballroom was beautifully decorated with the wedding arch following the wedding theme which is the Tropical. The grand ballroom were nicely decorated including the dais on the main stage and the bridal dining table too. One cool thing about the dining table is the LED floor that made the entire platform looks so modern, awesome and magical.

Now we have entered the grand ballroom event area and you will understand why they ranked this place as 5-star event space. This ballroom offers an excellent and luxurious environment for any event to be held here with its furniture, carpeting and other finishing. The oval roof is filled with crystal light that acts like small stars that creating an impressive and glamorous ambience. 

 

A plus-point to this event space is that this grand ballroom is easily accessible by the elderly or OKU as it designed with the disabled-friendly wheelchair ramp walkway for convenient purpose. Brilliant and very thoughtful, isn't?

There is also a Royal Upper Deck for VVIP dining or observatory purpose, which I found out this area is really suitable for guests with kids that need some privacy space for their children without disturbing the others while enjoying the meal.

Besides the Royal Upper Deck, there are two waiting rooms that served as bridal waiting rooms and VVIP Waiting Area on the upper floor. As mentioned, this floor is also easily accessible by wheelchair walkway or using the elevator. Both rooms give an extra privacy to the bridal while getting themselves ready, waiting for the timing for their grand entrance or even spending time with their bridesmaids and groomsmen. 

 

For corporate event, these rooms can be used as conference or meeting room too.

Since the grand ballroom is huge in size, two big screens were provided on both side of the ballroom that give a clearer and better view especially projecting the on-going event like the bridal grand entrance, montage videos or even live streaming of the wedding ceremony. The organizer also provide sophisticated PA and sound system for a quality audio and rostrum setup on the stage.

Now, we go into the main highlight of the post which is the catering that provided by Felda D'Saji. They served variety of authentic Malay cuisine that really suits our taste buds so well. The menu covered 6 main dishes, few side dishes, beverages, fruits and desserts. The main dishes were served in heated serving dome on each table so that guests can limit physical contact with one another as part of the SOP.

The side dishes include the fried kuey teow and fried noodle that cooked on the spot and served hot. Also prepared on-the-spot is the "kambing golek" that you can see the chef cut it from the rack and served it fresh to you.

The kuih muih that served were the karipap with potato and apam johol. Special and only available when catering catered by Felda D'Saji, they served ice-cream with Tapai, a fermented rice. This is a specialty and product produced by them and it comes with 5 different flavors; Mango, Strawberry, Durian, Vanilla and Yam.

If you have Halal-related concern, then you can be rest assured because Felda Perdana Grand Ballroom main kitchen is preparing the foods with world-standard Good Manufacturing Practice and they have awarded with the Halal Certificate by Department of Islam Development (JAKIM) for its Syariah compliance practice and supply. The reference number for your confirmation is JAKIM/(S)/(22.00)/492/2/2 030-12/2009 that have validity until 30th November 2021.

Separate prayer rooms where provided for Muslim-guests to perform prayers at the lower ground of this Dewan Perdana Felda. The ablution area is just outside of the prayer room and proper storage area was provided to keep your belonging.

That's pretty much that I want to share about my last visit to Dewan Perdana Felda for a wedding ceremony. The package and venue were so complete as everything else were taken good care of by them.
