Sungei Wang Plaza is one of the longest-running malls in Malaysia that was first opened for business in January 1977. This is mall has approximately 800,000 sq.ft of retail floor area and it is strategically located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur city centre that easily accessible through public transport like Monorail and MRT.

 

Today on the 15th January 2022, Sungei Wang Plaza which is famously known as Malaysia's childhood mall make a remarkable yet historical moment where it has finally come alive with its completely brand-new outlook after undergoing the fourth massive refurbishment project which has been commenced since 2017.

The Grand Launch Of New Look Of Sungei Wang Plaza event took place at the Centre Court, Sungei Wang Plaza. The event kick-started with a remarkable Welcome Remarks by the Emcee of the Day and continue with the Welcoming Speech delivered by Mr Ng Yih Chen, Chairman of Sungei Wang Plaza Management Corporation.

With remark to the opening speech, Sungei Wang Plaza has launched the glistening gold look that represents themselves as a "Beauty & Experiential Mall" that will be offering differentiated retail and exciting experiential activities such as indoor rock-climbing gym, indoor adventure park, indoor drift kart, heritage miniature museum and many more.

Grand Launch Is Officially Completed With The Gimmick Presentation

In conjunction with the launch and the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration, Sungei Wang Plaza has taken the initiative to organize the first edition Sungei Wang Plaza National Traditional Lion Dance Competition from 15th January 2022 till 16th January 2022 at the Main Entrance. It was a successful event with a total of 21 renowned lion dance associations across the nation who have come over and competed for the 1st Champion title.

The healthiest congratulation to Ching Xing Sports and Cultural Centre, Penang team for winning the first Champion title, Persatuan Tarian Singa Jong Hwa Seberang Prai, Penang as 1st Runner Up, Persatuan Kebudayaan Kepong Hong Teck as 2nd Runner Up and Xuan Long Dragon And Lion Dance Ampang Selangor as 3rd Runner Up.

As preparation for us to roar together into the auspicious Year of Tiger, Sungei Wang Plaza would like to invite everyone to relish in the moment of festivities at Sungei Wang Plaza.

 

With the theme "The Fantasy of Taiko", the plaza will be featuring exciting celebrations that you can experience a Kawaii New Year 2022 full of hopes, good health and prosperity through their decorations, redemption and an abundance of performances from now until the  20th February 2022.  

The Fantasy of Taiko is a sign for people to be energized with power, boldness and predilection in this year's Chinese New Year. The mall has been transformed into a "Kawaii" concept Chinese New Year filled with Red Chinese lanterns, flower blossom trees, gold ingots and vibrant red decorations.
