Dear Readers,
Legoland Malaysia Resort Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary This Coming September With Exclusive Never-Before-Seen Shows And Loads Of Special Events Line-Up
As an undergraduate that studied at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, I am excited to find out that Johor will have a new theme park and going to hold several records as this will be the first international theme park in Malaysia, the first Legoland theme park in Asia region and sixth in the world upon its establishment.
The ground-breaking was conducted on the 2nd December 2009 on a 76-acres land located at Iskandar Puteri, Johor. The theme park finally opened its door to welcome both local and international LEGO fans on the 15th of September 2012 which offers more than 40 interactive rides, shows and attractions.
For your information, Sultan Ibrahim Ismail, Sultan of Johor officiated the official opening on the 22nd September 2012.
Opportunity To Explore Legoland Malaysia Resort |
This year, Legoland Malaysia Resort will be celebrating its 10th Anniversary this coming September. They proudly invites you and your family to celebrate Awesome-ness with exclusive never-before-seen shows and loads of special events line-up.
Legoland Malaysia will be unveiling the Largest LEGO CAKE to commemorate the birthday anniversary which is more than 4 meters tall and made with LEGO bricks, allows you to experience the creative possibilities with LEGO DOTS, meet and greet special characters, fun activities and the coolest shows activities and giveaways up for grabs.
The Journey Begins Here At The Legoland Malaysia Resort Ticketing Counter |
During my recent visit, I had the opportunity to explore two attractions which are the Legoland Theme Park and SEA LIFE Aquarium only as the Water Park was closed every Tuesday. So, you need to plan your trip wisely and refer to the updates on their website to avoid any disappointment.
1st Themed Area: The Beginning
My first station started at 'The Beginning' and this is the starting point where we start our awesomeness journey here in Legoland Malaysia. There are several shops available including The Big Shop, The Brick Shop and Mini Market with a restaurant known as The Cafe for you and your family to fuel up before continuing the journey.

2nd Themed Area: LEGO City
The second stop as we took the 'RIGHT' route, we reach the 'LEGO City' and this is the perfect stop for the kids as they can earn the Driving License to be the youngest drivers and explore the city with their electric car, be the ambitious character for them to choose either it is pilot, firefighter, or sailor.
This city is also created for everyone as the adult LEGO fans can explore the LEGO City Airport, and ride on the LEGOLAND Express or Boating School together with their little ones. Before heading to the next themed area, do check out for shows and entertainments that have been arranged for you on the day of your visit.
Done with the LEGO City, I head directly to 'Miniland' just next to it. Here, it is the heart of every LEGOLAND where the much-loved-true-to-life miniature of iconic landmarks are gathered and built with over 30 million LEGO bricks.
You will be able to find famous attractions from 17 Asian countries such as the PETRONAS Twin Towers, Merlion of Singapore, Taj Mahal from India and many more. To make it more interesting, some of the icons and attractions are animated with a touch of a button that allows you to enjoy the sights and sounds of every masterpiece.

Fourth Themed Area: Land Of Adventure
Next, it is time for some adventurous journey as we venture into the forgotten worlds of Pharaohs to go for a laser-blasting hunt for the lost treasure at the Lost Kingdom Adventure and join the thrilling journey up a lost, forgotten volcano on a log boat that glides past animated LEGO dinosaurs and crashes down into the dangerous waters with a huge splash.
Here is the challenge for you to stay dry if you can as this will be your ultimate challenge. Anyway, you can go for a poncho to keep you dry or just go wet and utilize the drying machine located at the exit of this exciting ride. This machine costs us RM 10 per session.
Enter Into The Parallel NINJAGO Universe And Become A Master Of Spinjitzu |
It is time for us to think like the ninja, move like the ninja and train like the ninja to be the Master of Spinjitzu. Come and learn more about Ninjago with the information display along the walkway before embarking on the most advanced 4D ride Asia has ever seen.
Here, you will be joining the NINJAGO Heroes and control the elements of fire, earth, lighting and ice with just your hands to defeat the Great Devourer. Indeed, it was a really fun and entertaining ride and let's see how we perform in the training.
Fight Like A Ninja And Score 2nd Place With A Total Score Of 78,350 Only |
Other than this ride, little Ninja can explore other attractions that are available under this themed area which include Cole's Rock Climb, Nya's Practice, Zane's Temple Build and Kai's Spinner as a preparation to master all the skills before the fight with the Great Devourer.
Sixth Themed Area: Imagination
After a few rides, it is time to slow down and have a quick rest. To do this, we went to the sixth themed area called Imagination where it is time for me to enjoy some movies at the LEGO Studios 4D. Do check out for the latest Shows and Entertainment so that you can plan well to return before the show started.
You can ride the Observation Tower to reach the highest point of Legoland Malaysia to enjoy a 360-degree view of the park.
The Imagination Where Movies, Magic and Music Galore With DUPLO Inspired Play Zones Located |
Seventh Themed Area: LEGO Kingdoms
Time To Explore The Kingdom At The Magnificent Castle |
Before completing the tour at LEGOLAND Theme Park, it is a mandatory journey to cross the drawbridge and enter the magnificent castle to explore the legendary folklore of fearsome dragons and fearless knights.
Be the bravest knight and hope onto 'The Dragon', the thrilling roller coaster and enjoy the twists and turns as the Dragon travel through the heights and depths of the King's Castle. The Dragon carried you to fly around the castle and soar through the treetops with lots of animated LEGO models along the way.
Be ready to spot the Giant Red Dragon that resides on the castle grounds. Do you find that while enjoying the ride?
The Forestmen's Hideout For Adventure Seekers |
There are more rides and attractions available in the LEGO Kingdoms for the little adventure seekers to explore including the Royal Joust allows them to immerse into a fairytale by taking a horse ride through the medieval forest, Dragon's Apprentice that designed for the younger guests, Merlin's Challenge, be entertained with music and dances that fit for the royalty at the Castle Stage and last but not least, the Forestmen's Hideout.
This is the must-go playground for adventure seekers where they can climb to treetop, slides and pack with multi-level challenges through an imaginary forest. Remember to find more updates about the attraction's status to avoid disappointment.
Eighth Themed Area: LEGO Technic
Last but not least, this is the last themed area that I explore during my visit which is the LEGO Technic. In this area, I was told to get ready for some awesome action-packed rides, the Technic Twister, Aquazone Wave Racers and the Great LEGO Race. But unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to ride any of these attractions due to maintenance and other restriction factors.
This will be the firm reason for my next visit when I return to explore LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort once again in the near future. However, you must visit Planet LEGOLAND, the new immersive build experience where ANYTHING is POSSIBLE.
You can build, unbuild, rebuild and leave your mark on the LEGO world. I had a great time here and was excited to be hands-on with so many different forms, shapes and sizes of LEGO bricks.

SEA LIFE Malaysia
SEA LIFE Malaysia |
SEA LIFE Malaysia is one of the four SEA LIFE available in the Asia region that is located in Bangkok (Thailand), Busan (South Korea) and Nagoya (Japan). Here in Malaysia, it is located next to LEGOLAND and showcases more than 25 display tanks with 11 habitat zones that will be featuring 13,000 sea creatures from 120 species.
One of The 11 Unique Themed Zones Of Sea Creature's Habitat |
There are several Ocean Caves available throughout the 11 themed zones that allow us to watch various fishes before our eyes through the concave glass.
The staff on duty was also very helpful in explaining to us about the species available here, especially when we explore the Seahorses section. This is a perfect place for us to learn about this unique sea species by observing their living and breeding habits.
