But today, I will be sharing with you two recipes where I use U.S. Blueberries as the main ingredients to make Homemade Frozen Blueberry Jam and Fresh Blueberry Smoothies.
Homemade Frozen Blueberry Jam
- Ingredients
- 600 g Frozen Blueberries
- 450 g granulated sugar
- 50 g pectin
- Methods
- Prepare the container by boiling the cap and bottle to sterilize. Set aside and dry thoroughly with a clean cloth.
- Thaw frozen blueberries in a stainless-steel pot.
- Add 400 g sugar and let it macerate for 20 minutes.
- Transfer to the stove and bring it to boil. Continue to mash as they simmer.
- Mix the rest of the sugar with 50 g of pectin and add it into the mixture.
- In low heat, let the mixture thicken.
- Once done, transfer to a bottle and let it cool down.
- Close the lid and seal the bottle.
Voila, the homemade frozen blueberry jam is now ready to be served. I love to have it spread on my 100% whole grain bread for breakfast or even during a coffee break while at work.
Fresh Blueberry Smoothie
- Ingredients
- 1/2 cup of Fresh Blueberries
- Yogurt of your choice
- Oat
- Method
- Blend oats and yogurt first
- Add blueberries and finish blending
- Garnish with whole blueberries
- Serve and enjoy its chilled
