Dear Readers,
Enjoy Outdoor Adrenaline Rush Session Doing White Water Rafting To Explore The Beauty Of Selangor River At Kuala Kubu Bharu With The Professional Guide From Xventure Mind
Hi guys! It has been a while and today, I am returning to share with you another episode of my #BeyondKL trip with Tourism Malaysia Central.
In this entry, I will be sharing my experience doing white water rafting at Kuala Kubu Bharu. If you are an outdoor person that currently looking for adrenaline rush activity around Selangor, then you need to continue reading this.
This is my second time doing water rafting at the same spot as the previous one was done exactly 10 years ago with my university mates while we were waiting for our convocation.
However, I am still nervous looking at my previous experience when I first try it out. Yes, I was basically thrown out of the raft every time we conquered the rapids or the raft capsized. To be honest, it was really fun and thrilling at the same time, indeed a memorable one.
Tourism Malaysia Central made a wise decision when they engaged with Xventure Mind for this activity. Xventure Mind has ventured into this adventurous business since 2010 and since then, the company has received tremendous good feedback from their rafter.
Most importantly, the rafter's safety is their priority as also your comfort during the trip with them. Your package includes all the safety and rafting gears, the most important piece is the life jacket which all rafters are compulsory to wear at all times, even if the rapids are small and manageable.
This is the first line of protection in case of any unavoidable accidents occur while we are in the river.
The second piece of safety gear is the well-fitted protective helmet as the river and rapids are surrounded by rocks and hard objects, hence it is crucial to protect our head from hitting anything that can cause temporary personal pain or worst, internal damage.
Other than these safety gears, Xventure Mind also mindfully prepared a dry bag to keep important belongings dry and afloat from damage by water if the case of capsizing. As for rescue purposes, there are throw bag or commonly known as rope bag that enables the user to toss the rope to a person who is out of their boat or require rescue from the river.
Last, the paddle is the obvious important piece for all water rafters. This piece will help us to have better control of the raft through difficult and challenging river trails in the desired direction.
Before we head to the river for the activity, the team from Xventure Mind will do a safety briefing. During the briefing, they will show you the right way to use all the safety gears including how to operate using the paddle to avoid any undesired incident during the journey.
Do pay attention to all the commands as they are really useful to ensure we are able to communicate well during the tense moments overcoming the rapids. You will be familiar with these commands once you are in the raft like 'Paddle Forward', 'Paddle Backward', 'Over Left', 'Over Right' and a few more.
Proper mastering of these commands will ensure a smoother journey as well. You will thank me later if you take this point seriously.
Xventure Mind ensures each trip leaders have a minimum of 5 years of river experience and guides are highly skilled oarsmen with great respect for the river and its elements. I really have peace of mind and trust as each of them is well-trained in river safety and allow us to enjoy the whole trip in a safe manner.
Whitewater Rafting KKB, Selangor (Grade 4+)
The starting point of this whitewater rafting is not far from the Selangor Dam allows you to enjoy an exciting journey conquering the rapids with relaxing drift at the end through a spectacular view of nature along the riverbank.
The river distance is around 7 KM and the journey will take approximately 2 hours depending on the river conditions.
Our trip starts sharp at 10.30 AM where all rafters gathered at the starting points with a 15-minute safety briefing. Once done with the briefing, we departed to the rafting point at 11.00 A.M. and stopped at the waterfall rest point with a simple snack and drink provided. This is a beautiful stop for you to take a lot of Instagrammable shots with your friends.

Now, you must be wondering what makes the whole journey so adrenaline rush, right? Lunch Before We Officially End The Water Rafting Trip |
Let me share with you some of the awesome shots as we plunge into the Hidraulic, First Cannon, Second Cannon, Last Rapid and many more along the journey. I did the water confident jump too that took me a lot of courage to do that. The feeling is like toasting myself into the washing machine, truly an experience of a lifetime.
The package that we booked is priced at RM 175 per person with a minimum of 5 pax per booking which the package includes lunch, safety and rafter equipment and guides.
It is recommended for the rafter to wear sports attire, especially sports shoes, strap sandals or any sports pants. For safety reasons, jeans are strictly prohibited.
If you can't swim, you still can have peace of mind to join this thrilling journey as a life jacket and helmet will be provided to ensure safety is properly taken care of.
Parents with kids also can bring along their children to experience this as long as they are 10 years old and above and the maximum weight should not be more than 100 kg for safety reasons.
For those wearing glasses, it is allowed as long as you secure glasses properly to your head with a strap. I wore contact lenses during my trip and it was okay for me, just remember to close your eyes when the water splashes on your face to avoid losing them.
