Ramadan 2023 is around the corner and IDEAS Kuala Lumpur has selected Nostalgia Ramadhan Buffet as the theme for this year's Ramadan dinner. For your information, this is also to mark the hotel's introduction as the latest addition to the city's hospitality scene. 

Nostalgia Ramadan Buffet will offer wide range of lavish dishes covering both traditional and classic Malay and International cuisines, and these dishes will be prepared using various styles of cooking and preparations using only the freshest ingredients.

I am truly excited to welcome the Holy Month of Ramadan this year as we finally can celebrate it to break the fast together with our family, friends, and loved ones after two years recent pandemic. 

It is time for us to relive the nostalgia of breaking fast with the warm hospitality provided by IDEAS Kuala Lumpur where the ambience here will definitely make the gastronomic journey a great one for us.

Homemade Sushi and Smoked Salmon Roulade

The Executive Chef and his culinary team has curated a sumptuous selection of cold starters, including Smoked Salmon Roulade, Red Prawn and Green Mussel on Iced, and an assortment of cold cuts with pickles. 

Next, check out the Gago Gado, Vadai topped with Chili Mayo, and a selection of sandwiches tower that will surely tantalize your taste buds. 

Continue with the Salad station that offers a wide variety of salad dressing choices with a mix of lettuce, carrots with raisins, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes with mayo, Hungarian sausages, and pasta salads.

Ulam-Ulaman And Cold Cut Starters

The Kerabu and Ulaman section will feature a variety of traditional Malaysian dishes, including Daun Pegaga, Ulam Raja, Daun Selom, Bendi Celur, Terung Celur, Kobis Putih, Kacang Panjang, Kerabu Perut, Kerabu Udang, Kerabu Betik, Kerabu Mangga, Kerabu Daging, and Kerabu Ayam. 

The Sambal station is a must-visit, especially for Malaysians who love spicy food. Here, they will serve various sambals including Sambal Belacan, Sambal Hitam, Tempoyak, Cencaluk, Budu, Sambal Kicap, Air Asam, Cili Kicap, and Sambal Thai. 

 

The Keropok station features a variety of crunchy snacks like Papadom, Rempeyek, Kerepek Pisang, Kerepek Ubi Kayu, and Maruku, and the Jeruk station comes with a variety of pickled fruits such as Ambra, Mangga, Cermai, Betik, and Kelubi.

Nostalgia Ramadhan Buffet will have its own Action-stall that features a range of dishes, including Pasta Bella Pasta, Pizza, Assorted Bruschetta, Chicken Wrapped, Sup Kambing Mamak, Cream of Mushroom, Breads & Butter, Yong Tau Foo & Dim Sum with Sauce and Condiments.

Besides Action Stalls, there is BBQ Corner set up to feature a range of grilled dishes, including Roasted Whole Lamb with Spicy Rosemary Sauce, Cucumber Raita, Chicken Sausage, Chicken Wings, Pais Ikan in Aluminum Foil, and Ayam Percik Slipper Lobster. 

The Sauce station offers a variety of dips, including Oriental Pineapple, Percik Kelantan, and Sambal Kicap ABC. 

There is Kawah station offers a variety of curries such as Gulai Daging Cincang Pisang Muda, Kertup Itik/Angsa, and Kambing Kashmiri.

Now, let us move to the on-island buffet that will be featuring Malay cuisines such as Rendang Ayam Minang and Sambal Sotong Kembang. There is a Chinese cuisine section that includes Fried Prawns with Salted Egg and Braised Beancurd with Black Fungus, while the Western cuisine will be featuring cheesy potato au gratin and lasagna.

But now the question is Raya will fall on 21st April 2023 (Friday) or 22nd April 2023 (Saturday)? Just wait for the announcement by the Keeper of the Ruler's Seal okay?
