My 2D1N Staycation At Oakwood Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur

During last Ramadan, my friends and I were looking for a staycation in town and glad that we found Oakwood Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur. This was my second visit to this hotel as I was invited for the Ramadan buffet reviews two years in a row, but my first-time staycation to experience it myself. 

I enjoyed my stay although it was just a short trip.

Oakwood Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur offers a mixed concept of hotel rooms and service apartments that are perfect for leisure travelers, business trip, or even families with kids.

The location of Oakwood Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur is situated in the heart of Kuala Lumpur city, some more on the Embassy Row make it one of the perfect choices for staycation. 

 

This hotel consists of 251 elegantly furnished rooms consisting of 5 different room types; the Deluxe Twin Room, 1-Bedroom Deluxe, 1-Bedroom Deluxe Corner, 1-Bedroom Premier, and 2-Bedroom Family Deluxe. 

 

1-Bedroom Deluxe - Living Room And Dining Area

During my stay, I was given the 1-Bedroom Deluxe room that is designed for couples or business executives. As I was still on the flexible working option, I spend my Work From Home schedule here at this hotel.

 

Workstation In The Bedroom - Perfect For My Work Without Interruption

Thankfully, the complimentary Wi-Fi given was able to help me work seamlessly without connection issues. 

 

In the room, there is an option to choose between 1 King-Sized Bed or Twin Beds, and can comfortably fit up to 3 adult max. The premium bedding allows me to enjoy my good night's sleep, and rest well for the whole night.

Now, one of the most important sections is the bathroom. This room type comes with an ensuite bathroom fitted with designer toiletries, a standing shower and/or bathtub (only available in certain rooms),  and basic grooming amenities.

As a person that drinks a lot of water daily, I am happy to see the effort from Oakwood Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur as the hotel install filtered water tap with 3M by replacing all plastic drinking bottled water as part of the journey towards achieving a waste-free future. 

 

A jug was given in the room, hence you can refill it directly from the water tap.

That's pretty much about the room tour, and now let us explore some of the facilities available to complete and make our stay a perfect one. 

TrEat Restaurant is the eatery option situated on the Upper Ground Floor and open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner serving both local and international cuisine. You can choose to dine indoors or outdoors which allows you to enjoy the lush greenery from the poolside deck.

I had my breakfast here, it was during the sahur and the spread was sufficient to fuel the rest of my day although we were fasting. Of course, the menu might be slightly different now from the normal breakfast serving. 

 

The choices were good for me, and the taste suits my taste buds really well. No complaint at all, and I enjoy my dining experience here at TrEat Restaurant, so far!

According to the website, there is a Pool Bar located on the same floor as TrEat that is an excellent choice for those that prefer a more casual, al-fresco setting for casual happy hour drinks. I did not have a chance to experience this, hence I will keep it to myself to explore it in the near future on your next visit, okay? 

 

Air-Conditioned Fitness Centre Equipped With Modern Cardiovascular And Strength Machines

For those active people, you can continue your routine while staying here as there is a Fitness Centre also located on the Upper Ground Floor and operates 24 hours that offers an air-conditioned fitness space equipped with modern cardiovascular and strength machines. 

 

The swimming pool is always been one of the most asked facilities for a hotel staycation, and Oakwood Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur has two outdoor swimming pools which allow you to bask in the sun and enjoy a relaxing dip.

 

There are adult pools and pool for the kids as well, hence parents can have peace of mind to allow their kids enjoy the pool, but of course still need to be under supervision by parents/guardians.

For business purposes, Oakwood Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur also offers space that is ideal for you to host your next event. There are four (4) diverse, versatile event spaces that can accommodate various types of events from intimate breakout meetings, and corporate conferences to company retreats accommodating up to 100 participants.

Last but not least, there is one more space that I would like to share with you, but I did not have a chance to experience it myself, hence I couldn't review more about it. None other but The Zen Spa located on the left side of the Front Desk.

As you can see, the spa area is kind of limited, and only two rooms are available, advance booking upon check-in is truly recommendable. I wish I could enjoy it during my stay, but this could be another reason for me to repeat my staycation again in the near future.

I would say my overall staycation here at Oakwood Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur was great and wonderful with a comfortable room, friendly staff that assist me very well during my visit, and complete one with all the facilities provided.
