Dear Readers,
Visit Hatyai For 4D2N With Leisure Itinerary That Covers Must-Visit Places In Hatyai And Songkhla That Are Properly Curated Just For You By KOPETRO Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd
Thailand has always been my favourite country to visit and of course, Hatyai as the closest city to Malaysia is a famous destination that well-known to all, some even make it a regular weekend trip since it is really convenient and easy to access for us.
Since I was planning to revisit, I was excited to find out about this attractive package offered by KOPETRO Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd. With as low as RM 359, I can visit Hatyai city for 4 Days and 2 Nights with transportation and accommodation included.
As mentioned it was a 4D2N trip, let's me share with you the going places that have properly curated by KOPETRO Travel for the best "Shop, Eat, Explore" experience here in Hatyai - Songkhla. Please bear in mind that some of the attractions will require an entrance fee at our own cost and all will be shared in detail later on.
So, enjoy reading guys!
4D2N Trip To Hatyai - Songkhla
During my trip on 9 - 12 June 2023, the departure (gather point) is located at Megan Avenue, Jalan Yap Kwang Seng. The bus departed at 9.15 PM heading northbound to Kuala Nerang, with several stops along the journey for our convenience purposes (i.e. toilet break, refill, etc.) with the longest stop at Masjid Tengku Sharafuddin Badlishah.
At this stop, it is just the perfect timing for us to freshen up and perform Subuh (Fajr) prayer before continuing the journey to the border. For your information, we will be entering Thailand through Ban Prakob Customs House (also known as During Burung, a small border down in Padang Terap District, Kedah from the Malaysia side).
The border will start operation at 7.00 AM, and we arrived just nice around 7.30 AM after having our breakfast at the restaurant just opposite Kuala Nerang Bus Station, choosing Cendol Stesen Bas Kuala Nerang with reference to Google Map.
When entering Thailand, it is mandatory to fill up the TM 6 Immigration Form (Thailand Arrival and Departure Card, also known as White Card by locals) by foreign nationals that are to be submitted to the Thai immigration checkpoint upon arrival.
(Extra Point: My white card has been filled up and all I need to do is just leave my signature on. Do check with them on this service with a small extra charge).
The best part to enter Thailand through this border checkpoint is the shorter time required to complete the whole process due to the lesser crowd compared to other entry checkpoints to Hatyai. Look at our happy faces after the smooth immigration check and we are so ready to explore Hatyai now.
(Take Note: As practiced by all customs check counters, no photography is allowed on the premise! Be alert on the spot where you want to take photographs to avoid unnecessary trouble)

#2 Ranu Kohyo
Ranu Kohyo To Shop For Snacks, Nuts, Sweets, And Many More |
The second stop we made was Ranu Kohyo, this is the place where you can shop till you drop for snacks, a variety of nuts (famous for cashew nuts), dried fruits, sweets, and many more! You name the "jajan" you heard that is famous in Thailand, you can find it here!

#3 Nora Plaza
Shopping For Unique Leather And Souvenir Products At Nora Plaza |
From clothing to snacks, now it is time for us to shop here at Nora Plaza located just 900m from Ranu Kohyo for some leather products, I would label it to be unique as it is not only made from normal leather than you can easily find elsewhere, but exclusive such as stingray, crocodile, and elephant, most probably only available here at Nora Plaza.
Here, you can find some unusual items like clothing, accessories, food, intricate handmade bags, home decor items, souvenirs, and many more! Also, a perfect stop for you to grab some souvenirs from Thailand for family and friends.

#4 ASEAN Night Bazaar
Famous Shopping Spot For Malaysians At ASEAN Night Bazaar Hatyai |
ASEAN Night Bazaar Hatyai is another shopping spot that all Malaysians visited Hatyai will surely stop by here! It is a covered market selling goods from Thailand like clothing, souvenirs, personal care products, and many more!
Most importantly, it is also an affordable shopping stop where you can bargain too, although some might sell at fixed prices only.
On the top floor, you can find several rows of stalls selling classic Thai dishes and drinks, and you can easily find a Halal store to fuel your tummy.
4D2N Hatyai Trip With KOPETRO Travel - Dining List
#1 Rusdee Boat Noodle
This is my second time here at Rusdee Boat Noodle, and I still love the food here. Undoubtedly, the queue starts as early as 12 noon. Yes, always a full house and it has been a famous lunch spot for all tourists.
Rusdee Boat Noodle is a modest, open-air restaurant that specializes in braised beef, liver and chicken boat noodles, desserts, and many more. The taste will excite your taste buds and craving for more.
When I saw my friends ordered Dim Sum which I never tried before, my goodness, it was really good, so huge in portion and you know what, it is really cheap as it only cost me 50 baht, not only that, the whole meals are ridiculously cheap!
For two pax, we only pay around 300 baht for the food that warmly fills up my tummy with full satisfaction.
Some Of The Menu List Available Here |
Boat Noodle At Big Portion - Total Syiokness To Finish It Up |
Huge Dim Sum For Only 50 Baht |

Open-Air Steamboat Steamboat Restaurant For All (Halal) |
Prayer Room For Guests To Perform Prayer While Dining Here |
Desserts And More At Khlong Hae Buffet Seafood Halal (Unlimited) |
Grilled Fish Ready For Everyone - Prepared By Staff |
As the dining place can be really hot and stuffy, it is recommended to bring a portable hand fan as well which will be helpful to cool down while enjoying the food here. Trust me, it is worth it to dine here if you are here in town.
#3 Islam PaiDaeng
Islam PaiDaeng At Songkhla District - Famous Among Tourists And Halal |
Islam PaiDaeng is the only restaurant that we visited during the trip located in Songkhla district, which we stop by for lunch before proceeding with the Singora Tram Tour.
Here, we had the must-order Kaeng Som (Asam Rebus) Sea Bass that truly open up your appetite and ask for more rice, other dishes include a Thai-style omelette, fish with a layer of crunchy garlic, sweet and sour prawn, and vegetables.
Menu Recommended By Our Tour Guide |

Besides serving delicious food, the entrance of Islam PaiDaeng is also very Instagrammable where you can spend time taking a lot of beautiful pictures with your family and friends.

#1 Khlong Hae Floating Market
Khlong Hae Floating Market - Waterside Market Shopping Experience |
Khlong Hae Floating Market is the first and only floating market located in Southern Thailand that operates over the weekend on Friday - Sunday including public holiday, do take note this!
Here, you can find many food choices, especially street food by traders that dressed in Thai retro costumes. It is a unique experience as well, and the best part is you can easily find local and Halal food here.
I loved the initiative on how they promote eco-friendly food containers that are creatively made from coconut shells, bamboo tubes, or earthen pots rather than using foam or plastic containers. Plus, it is cheap and affordable too!

Unique Experience When You Shop Here At The Waterside Market |
Beautiful Scenery Of Khlong Hae Floating Market At Hatyai That Opens On Weekend |
There are ample seating spaces available right in front of the trading area where you can have your food with your family and friends while enjoying live performances straight from the main stage.
Other than the waterside market, there are plenty of stalls available on selling clothes, souvenirs, food, and drinks that sell at a very affordable price, and even games and entertainment are available too. All transaction is performed with cash term only.
#2 Chang Puak Elephant Camp
Famous Photography Spot Before Explore The Attraction |
Chang Puak Elephant Camp Hatyai offers not only the elephants ride, but also a lot of exciting activities such as elephant talent show, elephant feeding, ATV, BB Gun, Crocodile show, Monkey Show, Bird Park and many more. Please do note that these activities incur fees that you can purchase the ticket at the ticketing booth.
Ticketing Booth At The Entrance |
As a person that loves to look for Instagrammable spots, you can spend
hours just visiting this attraction as there are plenty of beautiful
setups here. We do enjoy our sweet time here although the weather is sunny and hot, but who cares right. Just need to make sure to keep ourselves hydrated at all times.
My all-time favorite activity to do here at Chang Puak Elephant Camp is elephant feeding, just look at how cute they are! Not expensive at all, just 100 baht per bucket and you can enjoy the lifetime experience of feeding them from this close encounter.
You can also take the opportunity to take some photos with elephants at the cost of 100 baht too, but you can collect the photo upon exit and each photo cost 200 baht with the frame. As a memorable token, I think the price is pretty fair.

#3 Central Mosque of Songkhla
The Taj Mahal of Thailand |
Besides religious site, The Central Mosque of Songkhla has attracted millions of tourists since built in 2001 with its beautiful decoration of elegant architectural and art styles, especially the stunning symmetry which adds to the beauty of this structure, both indoor and outdoor of the mosque.
It is one of the largest mosques in the southern part of Thailand. If you ask me whether I will repeat my visit to explore more about this mosque, my answer will be definitely yes! Looking at the photo collections from the public, there is more to explore here.
Another activity to be done here will be the fish feeding where you can purchase the pellet at only 10 baht per packet.
#4 SeaVerse Cafe & Restaurant
This is one of the latest addition to the attraction list here in Hatyai. SeaVerse Cafe & Restaurant is located just a few minutes' drive from Central Mosque of Songkhla. Just perfect to chill after a long day staying under the sun.
With an entrance fee of 30 baht per pax, you can enjoy the beautiful view, especially from the magnificent views overlooking the whole property, and spend quality time with family and friends at the cafe. It is air-conditioned, hence the best spot for a quick rest here.

Main Highlight - Butter Beer (It's Halal With No Alcohol Added) |
#5 Singora Tram Tour
Singora Tram Tour - Exploring Songkhla With Tram |
As we have the tram just for ourselves, the Singora Tram Tour was priced at 300 baht per person at our own cost. The tram picks us up at Islam PaiDaeng, right after our lunch at Songkhla.
This tour will wind through the fascinating architecture of Old Town, an opportunity to visit the old town of Songkhla, pass through Songkhla Mosque and Thai Buddhist temple, and make several stops to point out famous landmarks for photography and explore sessions.

Stop At Nakhon Nai Museum - An Old Chino-Colonial Building |
Hub Ho Hin (Red Rice Mill) Hatyai - Permanent Exhibition About The History |
Memorable Touch On Part Of The Songkhla Old City Wall That Was Built In 1842 |
Indeed, the whole tram session took around 90 minutes to complete with the final stop at the Samila Beach, Songkhla. I would say this tram trip was really worth it as we can explore the old-town of Songkhla which I normally didn't get the chance to do it on my own journey. Agree?

#6 Samila Beach
Beach That Home To The Famed Mermaid Sculpture |
Whenever you plan your Hatyai trip, Samila Beach will always be on top of the list, if not all this is for most of us.
Samila Beach is a 3-KM stretch of white sand beach that is famous among the locals and tourists, making it one of the busiest parts of Southern Thailand. For your information, this beach is not for swimming or sunbathing looking at its business nature nearby.
Hence, people normally visit just to exercise, ride bicycles, even horse ride for the kids, or hang out with family and friends while enjoying small bites from the local stalls.
Famous Mermaid Sculpture Poses With The Same Mae Thoranee Pose |
This beach is famed for its legendary Golden Mermaid (Nang Nguek Thong) sculpture that was originally created back in 1966 by Jitr Buabus. It was the story to be told about a mermaid that comb her hair with a golden comb that got frightened away by a young fisherman. Interesting, right?
To be honest, there is more to explore here at Samila Beach.

#7 Big Bee Garden (Big Bee Farm Hatyai)
Famous Big Bee Garden At Hatyai |
Big Bee Garden (also known as Big Bee Farm Hatyai) is one of the Big Bee branches available around Thailand which has been established for 20 years now.
Here at this outlet, you will be able to experience various methods of beekeeping that exist in Thailand in a close-up manner, and a bee museum for those that are interested to visit for knowledge. My favorite spot here is, of course, shopping for honey-based products and the price is pretty competitive.

#8 Visit Dannok Before Back To Malaysia
Dannok is a small town in Southern Thailand, close enough to the Malaysia border, pretty much unknown to the world as it was overshadowed by popular cities around Thailand.
We make a short stop here for lunch and shopping before departing back to Malaysia.

#9 Free & Easy At Hatyai
That's
pretty much about the attractions that we have during the daytime. As
part of the itinerary, we do have Free & Easy night where we took
the opportunity to visit Lee Garden Night Market, another must-visit famous night market that offers lots of souvenirs, local street
foods, and many more. We had our relaxing massage here too!

4D2N Hatyai Trip With KOPETRO Travel - Accommodation
2-Night Stay At River Grand Hotel Hatyai |
River Grand Hotel is our official 2-night stay hotel here in Hatyai, I would say it is comfortable at least for a good night's rest after a long day exploring Hatyai and Songkhla. Didn't expect much for a luxurious perfect stay since we only spent a few hours as long as I can get a quality sleep, which I did with no complaints.
As usual, all basic amenities are provided with an attached bathroom which is convenient, but we only need to share iron which can be real chaos with limited units available when this is a busy hotel with tourists travelling in groups.
