The specialty of this Excursion Train is that you can enjoy the experience of riding a conventional train that is powered by diesel locomotives that are no longer used on the Northern route.
The best part is the train is equipped with Chillax coach, Cafe Coach on top of the offered seated coaches. There will be a total of 36 seated First Class Coach with ticket priced at only RM 71 one-way while 240 seats for Second Class Coach with ticket priced at RM 51 one-way.
For the Chillax coach, there will be no seat provided but a comfortable bean bag is provided just perfect to chill along the way. During this trip, it was indeed a great privilege to have a special appearance by Aizat Hamdan as the main singer to the theme song, Railway To See Malaysia.

The Excursion Train concept was introduced to promote KTMB as the main transportation mode for tourism in Malaysia which is to target more domestic travel for the local, Asian and International tourists using the KTMB train services.
Through this campaign, KTMB aims to increase the number of train passengers of 5% in total or 1.25 million passengers within a year starting from the period this campaign is launched.
For me, this trip is really convenient and just perfect for a short escape over the weekend from the bustling city for a domestic trip. I can skip the hassle of driving across the state but just sit back, relax and enjoy the journey.
Through effective promotions, attractive packages, and beautiful scenery along the train route, we are confident of offering a different experience for tourists and thus to increase local economic income. said Suhaimi Yaacob, KTMB Chief Corporate Officer.
